This IMI Performance Products Hi-Torque starter is a 1.2kW genuine Nippon Denso starter motor with a 4.44 to 1 gear ratio and can be re-indexed to fit the Volkswagen Bug, Super Beetle, Ghia, Bus, Type 3 and Thing. If you have converted your car to 12 Volt and still have a 6 Volt transmission and flywheel this is the correct starter for your application. This starter is 12 Volt DC and has a 9 tooth(large diameter) gear for the 180mm 6 Volt Volkswagen flywheel.  

Installation Note: This is a self supporting starter and does not require the standard starter busing used with the SR11 starter. Will only work with a 6 Volt / 109 tooth flywheel.
