This is a brand new 12 Volt, 90 Amp internally regulated Alternator based on the same style alternator that was originally available on '73 and later Beetle and Karmann Ghia. Over the years it has been adapted to all models as a 12 volt conversion and an alternative to the factory 12 volt generator. This alternator provides a much improved upgrade to the stock charging system making it more reliable and better suited for aftermarket electronics. Most 12 volt conversion kits on the market use this style alternator as the bases for the conversion kit. Made in China. 

Installation Note: This alternator will fit MOST VW's with a Type-1 13-1600cc based engine and earlier cars that have been converted to 12 Volt. This Alternator requires a stand designed for alternators and will not work with early stock generator stands. 

Application Note: This is considered a universal part and can fit many different applications based on modifications to the vehicle. Will NOT work on early cars with fixed generator stands(the stand diameter is too small). This can be used on Type-3 Fastback & Notchback with a Type-1(upright style) engine only. Will NOT fit Type-3's with pancake style engine. Will NOT fit Type-4 pancake style engine.  Application information is just for reference and not applicable to a stock vehicle configuration.
